On Saturday, 17 June, pupils of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian gathered in the National Minorities’ Club where they were greeted by Slovenian actress and author Saša Pavček.

She shared with them some stories about her childhood, and they also learned what her first pet was and how difficult it was for her to learn reading.
Saša Pavček teaches at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and TV, and she clearly presented to pupils her pedagogical work. She spoke about her writing, and then it was the time to award certificates. The youngest pupils deserved special praise for regular attendance and active learning. Three acknowledgments were awarded for regular attendance: Aleksandra Špehar and Elena Lunić did not miss a single class, while Viktor Perušić was the boy who most often attended classes. Reader's badge this year went to Nikša Perušić and Aleksandra Špehar, and they also received acknowledgement and books. Nikša Perušić and Jelena Sibinović received acknowledgement and book award of the City Library of Ljubljana, where their art works had been selected among top ten at the competition Underwater World.

Every end of school year is the opportunity to reflect back and thank also to parents who encourage their children to learn Slovenian. Our pupils are rather art-oriented and we applauded them for everything they created this year. They participated at different events and quizzes, and they showed their knowledge and imagination. Albert Einstein said that imagination was more important than knowledge. Knowledge has its limits, imagination does not. With imagination we can move the limits of knowledge, that is why we wish our pupils that imagination give them wings and that they further enrich their knowledge. Knowledge is the power so that knowledge of Slovenian language and culture may open doors to the future.
