Upon the invitation of the organisation of Women of Municipality of Sveti Nikola from Macedonia, the Association of Slovenians “Triglav” took part in the project entitled “Different colours, one game – with sport against racism and discrimination”.
Project lasts from April 26 until May 5, 2011 and the aim is to show that we are all equal and that all people should be treated the same. Within the project, a prize contest was arranged with the same title as the project. The contest was delivered to high schools in countries involved in the project whereupon the best literary and art works were selected. A caravan with volunteers set off from Macedonia, via Kosovo, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia and the final event was held in Banja Luka, while the summary of the entire trip will be held in Serbia on the way back to Macedonia. Volunteers from all countries gathered in Banja Luka on May 2 and spent 3 days with our volunteers.

The first day was reserved for the introduction of volunteers and presentation of partner organisations as well as intercultural evening. On Tuesday, May 3, the programme was held on the premises of the National Minorities’ Club and commenced by a performance where all volunteers from Macedonia took part. An exhibition of works was also opened and awarded works were read out. It is our honour to see that out of all works delivered, two from Banja Luka won prizes – first and third prizes. This was followed by a football game on a sports field of the Elementary School “Dositej Obradović” wherein all volunteers took part and in the afternoon our volunteers took the guests for a sightseeing tour of Banja Luka.

The programme finished on Wednesday, May 4, when volunteers went back to their countries. Weather served us well, socializing was extremely pleasant, contacts were established and guests were more than happy with the reception in our city.
