At the 12th Youth Summer School of Slovenian in Ljubljana, which ended on 14 July, there participated five students of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian from Banjaluka.

On Monday, 3 July 2017 the course started by an introductory speech at the hall of Secondary Teacher's School and Grammar School Ljubljana, whereupon students divided into groups and started studying. Lessons were held in the morning, afternoon and evening so students had a lot of opportunities for fun, getting familiar with Slovenian sights and attending cultural events. Expert associates Mihaela Knez and Damjana Kern prepare excellent programme every year, while proof-readers and assistants take care about pleasant atmosphere during lessons, workshops, excursions and events. Students visited Ljubljana, Parliament, National Gallery and Botanical garden, climbed to the Šmarna hill, visited Bled, Roglo, Vilenica cave and Primorska, watched Slovenian movie „Pođi sa mnom“ and a theatre play Rokova modrina, took part at creative workshops and sport games, swam in Atlantis, Lake Bled and the sea. Our students have already attended many summer schools and camps but say that this one is the best.

The Youth Summer School was organised by the Centre for Slovenian as Second/Foreign Language and this year's motto was ‘More acquaintances, more languages’. Associates of the Youth Summer School wish that the youth get new friends and speak Slovenian as much as possible. School and activities are funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad.
