Slatina 28 June 2014

Slovenians of the Association of Slovenians »Triglav« together with many guests marked the Slovenian Day in Slatina on 28 June 2014.

Atmosphere was very nice as it suits such an event. Programme consisted of an introductory song »Slovenija od kod lepote tvoje«, which was, together with the Mixed choir „Davorin Jenko“, sang by the presenter of the programme and a known singer Maja Tatić, and introductory speeches by vice president of the Association, Mladen Lunić, deputy Head of Municipality of Laktaši, Ognjen Vulin and deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to BiH David Brozina. Performance of songs followed: choir „Davorin Jenko“ of the Association of Slovenians »Triglav«, Octet 9 Celje and group of children of the Association „Kres“ from Novo mesto, who performed their songs accompanied by old and already forgotten interesting instruments that caught the attention of the attendees. Polka and Waltz were performed by children of folklore group of the Association of Slovenians »Triglav« Banjaluka. Teacher Barbara Hanuš prepared a stand with students of Supply Teaching Lessons of Slovenian containing objects made by children themselves. Together with children she also prepared an interesting quiz for adults.
There was enough of goulash, polenta, cviček wine and goodwill. Both old and young people danced and sang, including many guests from other Slovenian associations. They enjoyed the sounds of a young band from Novo mesto.
Weather also served us well. So long until the 6th Slovenian Day.
