Our Mixed choir “Davorin Jenko” performed as guests in Šentvid pri Stični at the Saturday concert of choirs from abroad and 47th Gathering of Slovenian Choirs.

Saturday concert took place on 18 June in the hall of the Elementary School Ferdo Vesel, with the participation of Slovenian choirs from Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our choir performed first and under the conductorship of Dušan Urošević they sang three songs: 1. Pridi nazaj, 2. Tam sem jaz doma and 3. Ajde Jano. Following the programme, the hosts organised the performance of a folklore group who danced Waltz and polka.

The following day, 19 June, the 47th Gathering of Slovenian Choirs took place under the motto “Jaz sem si nekaj zmislu”. This time, the event was somewhat different from the previous ones – together with choirs there performed domestic reciters and folklore. Conductor of the event was Igor Švara who has participated in this event for many years, and the entire event was broadcast live on national television of Slovenia.
