On Saturday, 24 September 2016, the Mixed choir “Davorin Jenko”, children folklore group and members of the Association of Slovenians “Triglav” travelled to Rijeka.

Slovenian Association KPD Bazovica organised our two-day encounter.
Having been accommodated in the “Neboder” hotel we did not have too much time to tour the city as it was necessary to get ready for the evening concert. President of KPD Bazovica Zvonimir Stipetić collected us and took to the place where the concert was to be held. Having entered the front yard, or rather a botanic garden encircling the beautiful villa of Slovenian centre, we were left speechless with beauty and tidiness of their “centre” where they work. The ambience and warm welcome got us even closer.
The joint concert took place in the evening. Their choir sang the welcome song and there followed the welcome speech by Vitomir Vitez, who was in charge of successful work of the Association Bazovica in the field of culture. This was followed by the performance of children folklore group, our choir “Davorin Jenko”, exchange of gifts and a thank you speech by vice-president of the Association “Triglav” Nataša Kajmaković. At the end of the successful concert our choir surprised the audience singing the song of inhabitants of Rijeka and Slovenians living there.
The official part was followed by socialising over dinner, sweets, singing.

The second day was intended for touring the city and some swimming. Hosts prepared party for us over singing, dancing and good barbecue.
