A joint project by the Union of Slovenian Associations in Bosnia and Herzegovina “Europe Now” was successfully implemented on Saturday, 10 December 2016 in Zenica, on the premises of the Centre for the Elderly.

There were 170 members of Slovenian associations from Sarajevo, Breza, Kakanj, Tuzla, Banja Luka and Zenica. The event was hosted and organised by Association Encijan from Zenica.
Dragan Gačnik, president of Encijan presented art works by Slovenian artists from three art colonies in Tuzla and opened the exhibition. Artists who took part at colonies were also present.

Cultural programme started by the performance of women’s choir “Slovenčice” from Tuzla, while president of the Union Darko Mijatović greeted the attendees. There also performed a folklore group of young people from Kakanj, whereupon a music group from Kakanj entertained us.

The eldest Slovenians who have lived in BiH or were born here met for the first time in one place. The event was intended for them, they were thrilled by it and showed it by dancing along Slovenian songs, Polka and Waltz.
We hope that next year in June even more of us will gather in Breza.
