The City of Banja Luka prepared a number of cultural events this year to observe the Day of Banja Luka. One of the events was the presentation of work and cultural activities of national minorities of the City of Banja Luka.
On 18 April 2017, in the Bana Milosavljevića Park everything was prepared for the national minorities to present their work to their fellow citizens. Seven national minorities (Cultural Association of Ukrainians “Taras Ševčenko”, Association of Slovenians of the RS “Triglav”, Association of Italians Banja Luka, Czech Association “Česka beseda”, Cultural Association of Macedonians “Vardar”, Association of Jews Banjaluka and Association of Montenegrins and friends of Montenegro) presented their work and cuisine on stands. The stands were visited by mayor Igor Radojičić, head of Department for Culture, Tourism and Social Policy Natalija Trivić and a member of city assembly representing national minorities Saša Čudić. “National minorities are said to be the treasure and bridge towards their home countries but they also enrich any place where they live with their different customs, folklore, cuisine and tradition”, mayor Radojičić said while visiting the stands.
Although an eventful cultural programme was planned to take place, cold weather and rain prevented it. We are sure that there will be other opportunities to present our work.
