The National Gallery is the central national institution for ancient art in Slovenia. It holds the largest collection of works of art in Slovenian territory from the middle to the 20th century.

The National Gallery Society was founded in 1918 and has been performing its mission for over one hundred years and many events have been prepared for the anniversary. One of the activities in which additional students of Slovenian language from Banja Luka, Slatina and Prijedor also participated was solving the MEGA quiz.

The Slovenian MEGA Library-Museum Quiz is a modern form of library and information literacy. It is organized and professionally run by the City Library of Ljubljana, Pionirska - Centre for Youth Literature and Librarianship, in cooperation with the Education and Communication Section of the Museum of Slovenia and, this year, the National Gallery. The students of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian join in solving each year, and this year is a special challenge for us, as we pay great attention to the arts in all groups.

In solving the quiz, we get to know the history of the National Gallery, the mission, the artists and the artworks it preserves. The gallery's favourite works of art are fresh and thoughtfully presented in the book Songs from the Gallery, excellent reproductions of the works are collected in the chest of the Gallery. In kindergarten, school and at home, and in addition to solving the quiz, we read other materials. We answer questions, write what we think when we look at artworks, and paint, draw and glue, because the MEGA quiz in addition to questions encourages artistic creation.
