Director of the Library, Mr. Ranko Risojević said that the goal of the event was to encourage the diversity of languages, multilingualism and life-long learning of languages. Mr. Risojević added that Banja Luka is rich with language minorities who are now in the spotlight and have the possibility to organise and express their languages. The Association of Slovenians »Triglav« Banja Luka presented itself on a stand with books in Slovenian and students of the Supply Teaching Lessons of the Slovenian language took part in the programme together with their teacher Valentina Gradič. The European Day of Languages was organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the RS in cooperation with the Council of Europe. During the day, there were language workshops organised for students of elementary and high schools, while at the stands in the hall of the Library visitors were able to get information on studying the languages.
