This year spring is coming slowly to our town. However, it has already arrived on the premises of the Association of Slovenians »Triglav« because on Saturday, 6April, we organised spring workshops.
Nature awakes in spring. In all cultures that period is very important. Easter is the major and oldest Christian holiday and at the same time a spring holiday and gratitude to the new life. During workshops, students of Supply Teaching Lessons of Slovenian from Banja Luka and Slatina created what they think of when we say spring. First associations are linked with flowers. Viktor brought daffodils and primroses and each child painted own picture with a motive of spring flowers. They also framed the paintings. This workshop was managed by Alenka – Viki and Nikša’s mother.
In the workshop lead by Aleksandra and Marina, children painted eggs – not the real ones but those made of paper. They glued them to cardboard, thus making beautiful posters. Franci taught the workshop participants how to shape rabbits and pretzels of pastry, while skilled children’s fingers also made fish. They baked it all and some of them even ate their art work immediately. During the fourth workshop we made invitations for performance »A balloon can also be my umbrella«. The performance will be prepared by students of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian and lead by puppeteers Jelena Sitar and Igor Cvetko. We can already invite you to fly away with us on 12 May to the Land of Hats. The performance will take place in theatre »Jazavac« at 11.00hrs.
