Secondary school students and adults who attended the supply teaching lessons of Slovenian gathered on Thursday, 13th June on the premises of the Association.
As early as on Wednesday evening did we host Anja Štefan at the performance for children, while this time she prepared a programme for adults. Narrative evenings for adults are rather favourite in Slovenia. Anja Štefan is in charge of the festival “Fairy tales Today” which resulted from a belief that a contemporary people can also be reached by a story if it be well told and if the content of what s/he is listening be worth it. Our guest spoke about the lessons learned from fairy tales and how important was story-telling in the past. More and more people pay attention to the importance of story-telling. Anja Štefan is a poet, writer and a story-teller and that is why she first recited her poems to us. Although they were written for children and published in picture books, the adults can also learn lessons from them. The same applies to fairy tales. She told us one about the king Matjaž and one with an important title “You cannot please everyone”. Anja Štefan presented herself as a versatile author and story-teller and in the end we all sang together.
Our pleasant socialising with fairy tales and poems continued with a snack. Prior to all this we distributed certificates of attendance to the students of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian as well as a bulletin “To smo mi”. Six students were awarded with commendation “Bralna značka Slovenije” and a literary award. Nataša Kajmaković gave a nice book to our guest as a present and thanked her for the visit while, in the name of students of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian, Marija Petković gave a book to teacher Barbara Hanuš “Road signs” by Ivo Andrić.
