On Friday, 9 May, the Europe Day, pupils from Ljubljana and vicinity presented European countries on the Hribar’s hill near the Ljubljanica river. Students of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian from Banja Luka, Slatina, Prijedor and Teslić, who presented Slovenia, also joined them.
Our students were offering pies and strudels to visitors, telling them about studying Slovenian and all activities joining up Slovenians in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were visited by an advisor from the RS Education Institute Mrs. Eva Jurman. They were happily walking around from a stand to stand and by quizzes learned about different countries, their language, characteristics and culinary specialties.
Stands were prepared in inventive manner and one could see posters with description of characteristics of countries, flag, objects, photographs of famous places and food. On the podium of the European village pupils showed to visitors traditional dances, music and appearances from different European countries.
On internet site of the RTV Slovenia one can see all stands as well as the picture taken of our stand by a journalist: http://otroski.rtvslo.si/bansi/prispevek/1287
