On September 23rd, 2010, in the Youth Centre in Banja Luka a show was organized entitled “Heritage in a box“. Twelve minorities presented the richness of national costumes to numerous visitors. They told them about the way of making the costumes, the way of dressing and all other important things about costumes. There were items of handicraft as well as specialties of national cuisines presented at stands.
The Association of Slovenians “Triglav“ Banja Luka showed national costume of Gorenjska and had two stands – one showed model of the Republic of Slovenia containing specific items from various geographic areas and the other contained many cuisine specialties marking some of the areas of Slovenia. The stands were filled with sweet and salty strudels, small snacks and top quality wines from known wine areas.
Diversity of colours of costumes, music playfulness of different peoples and stands filled with various items gave the meaning to the name of the show „Heritage in a box“. All those items were taken out from old boxes by members of national minorities in the Republic of Srpska, BiH, and presented to the visitors.
