On Saturday, 20 September 2014, the mixed choir KUD SVOBODA ČRNUČE and mixed choir “Davorin Jenko” of the Association of Slovenians “Triglav” from Banja Luka held a joint concert in the hall of the Cultural Centre in Črnuče.
Organiser of the concert was the Youth Association Moč from Črnuče.
Despite announcements in the media and magazines, unfortunately there are not many visitors to such events. This time was not any better. Despite that fact, the concert was held in a very good atmosphere. The first to perform were guests from Banja Luka. They sang four Slovenian folk songs. Following a short break, there followed the singing of the hosts, mixed choir KUD Svoboda Črnuče. They sang three songs and were again followed by guests from Banja Luka. This time they sang old city songs and those known to the audience. The choir owes special gratitude to a new conductor Vanja Topić, MSc, for the efforts and songs well sang. The visitors long applauded to their first performance in Črnuče.
Pleasant atmosphere, even more pleasant hosts, especially their president Tadej Cmerekar and persons of cultural and public life gave special inspiration to all the singers at the concert. We need to underline that all of us who live outside Slovenia were especially happy to see at the concert current and former leaders of Slovenian Emigrants’ Association, Mr. Pelhan with his wife, Mrs. Rogelj.
We had a nice time in Črnuče, it was nice to socialise with compatriots and it is such a nice feeling when hosts offer warm welcome.
