After a full 8 years, the Banja Luka audience had the opportunity to once again enjoy the performance of the male choir Primorski academic choir Vinko Vodopivec, which comes from Ljubljana.
On Friday, April 25, 2025, a concert was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska. In this way, in this representative cultural institution, where the exhibition Pitanje pogleda, by Slovenian photographer Jako Babnik, is currently underway, two cultural events, artists who come from the Republic of Slovenia, coincided.
The choir, which has a tradition of over 70 years, is mainly made up of students from the Slovenian province of Primorje, who hold rehearsals in Ljubljana where they study at different faculties, but they are all connected by their love of choral singing. Last year, at the 28th Slovenian choir competition "Naša pjesma", they won a silver medal.
In Banja Luka, under the leadership of conductor Jakob Barbo, they performed their standard repertoire, which consists of Slovenian folk songs, works by contemporary Slovenian authors and spiritual songs. The audience, which consisted mainly of members of the Triglav Association of Slovenians, enjoyed the fantastic performance of the young singers, who performed a memorable concert in the exhibition hall of the Museum, which proved to be a space with perfect acoustics.
The concert was organized by the Triglav Association of Slovenians from Banja Luka in cooperation with the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska.
