"Separated, but still together" is the motto of various events held this year via the Internet, when we are not allowed to hang out due to the possibility of infection.

New technologies allow us to see, hear and talk despite the distance. This also applies to the Slovenian lessons. Even though we are separated, we remain connected. We write messages, send works of art, paint ...

The computer application Zoom connects us online. Classes are on a regular schedule, the application allows us to see and talk to each other. In language learning, we need to develop four communication skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. We can practice reading and writing even if we don’t see each other. There are also a lot of recordings that we can listen to and test our comprehension with. But we still have to find opportunities to talk. Since our students do not speak Slovenian at home, and they do not even hear Slovenian in their environment, it is important that we meet online. Sometimes it is just a story and a conversation with the texts we read, and sometimes it is necessary to explain the grammatical rules as well. Supply teaching lessons of Slovenian language are different from what they used to be but it is important that they are held regularly. That way we will not forget everything we have learned so far, and with new forms of work we will learn a lot of new things. We stay connected and hope that soon everything will be as before.
