On Saturday, September 4, 2021, representatives of Slovenian associations in BiH gathered in Zenica. The meeting was organized by the Association of Citizens of Slovenian Origin Encijan from Zenica.

The president of the Encijan association, Dragan Gačnik, was an excellent host. It was his persistence and desire to make the present members of Slovenian associations in BiH and other guests feel comfortable in Zenica this time as well. Our gathering is marked by the preservation of culture, language and customs. We were at the opening of the exhibition of works of art by the artist Tatjana Ratković Bosnić. The exhibition was also visited by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to BiH and numerous guests from Zenica.

After that, we continued to socialize in the hall of the Zenica Retirement Home. The short cultural program led by our friend, the well-known journalist Dušan Tomažič, MA, included: the Slovenian Women's Choir, the Association of Slovenians from Tuzla, the first lady of the Sarajevo Opera Aida Čorbadžić and a music group from Novo mesto. We sang and danced. We have not forgotten Slovenian songs or Slovenian dances. After difficult months, the year of the pandemic, our socializing was diverse and cheerful. We Slovenians, who have lived in BiH for a long time, rarely hang out. I think that this time we must first thank the president of the Association Encijan and our ambassador, who carefully listened to every Slovenian member present at the event.
