On June 24, 2023, we marked the 14th Slovenian Day and the 25th anniversary of the Association of Slovenians of the Republika Srpska "Triglav" Banja Luka.
At the Sports field in the center of Slatina, over 300 people participated in and attended the event and thus justified the epithet of the largest gathering of Slovenians and their descendants in the territory of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The mayor of Laktaši, Mr. Miroslav Bojić, addressed the attendees and expressed his satisfaction that this event has long since become traditional and proved that the cultural and economic ties between Slovenia and Republika Srpska are improving and strengthening. Consul of the Republic of Slovenia in BiH Mr. Boris Jelovšek also greeted the attendees, congratulated on the organization of the event and invited the attendees to come to the 3D projection of the 170 cm tall bee, which will be organized in the Delta shopping center in Banja Luka on July 3, 2023 at 12:00.
On behalf of the City of Banja Luka, those present were greeted by Mr. Vedran Francuz, the mayor's advisor for international and regional cooperation who wished the organizers that this tradition would continue for many years to come.
In the cultural part of the program, the Mixed Choir "Davorin Jenko" from Banja Luka, the children's folklore group of DS "Triglav" and the Women's Choir of the Slovenian Cultural Society "Ajda" from Umag took part.
This year too, we were joined by Branka Bukovec and associates from the Association for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo Mesto, RTV Slovenia journalist Dušan Tomažič, representatives of Slovenian associations from Sarajevo, Kakanj and Zenica, as well as representatives of national minority associations in the City of Banja Luka.
On this occasion, recognitions and certificates of thanks were presented to deserving individuals, institutions and companies, and the entire event was accompanied by RTRS and the editor of the show "Mala Evropa" Duško Ignjatić.
After the program, there was a party with the Efekt ensemble from Novi Mesto.
The event was financially supported by the Office for Slovenians around the world, the City of Banja Luka and the City of Laktaši.
