The first Zmijanje embroidery workshop of the Association "Triglav" Banja Luka was held in the premises of the Association "Triglav" on July 7, 2023.
We have successfully implemented an idea that has existed for some time. The bees, as we called the participants of the workshop, were chatting over juice and rolls that they had made themselves, and embroidered diligently. The first results have already been recorded.
Due to vacations, there were not many of us, but the other members will join us, so the workshop will be as lively as a beehive. Ljiljana Memon gave some introductory, basic information about the Zmijanje embroidery, its characteristics and the technique of the embroidery itself. Together with Ljiljana Marčeta, she led this workshop.
We are happy that with our work we will contribute to the development and progress of the Association of Slovenians and at the same time work on popularizing and emphasizing the importance of preserving Zmijanje embroidery as a world cultural heritage.
We truly enjoy knitting the precious Zmijanje embroidery and simultaneously interweave the bonds of friendship that are of inestimable value.
