Zenica, September 2, 2023
On Saturday, September 2, we attended the 5th gathering of Slovenians in Zenica, organized by the Association of Citizens of Slovenian Origin "Encijan" Zenica.

In addition to the representatives of the Association of Slovenians "Triglav" from Banja Luka, there were also representatives from SKD "Ivan Cankar" from Sarajevo, the Slovenian Community of Breza, the Association "Jožef Šspringer" from Kakanj, the Slovenian Community from Tuzla, and the Slovenian Emigrant Association from Ljubljana and of course Slovenians from Zenica.

The host, Dragan Gačnik, greeted us warmly and thanked us for our arrival, although he mentioned in his speech that he hesitated whether to organize the meeting at all, due to the damage caused by the recent floods in Slovenia.

The general secretary of the Slovenian Emigrant Association, Jasmina Ilić Draković, and the finance officer, Ženja Simonič, presented us with an exhibition that vividly depicted the organization, activities, and leading staff of the Slovenian Emigrant Association from its foundation in 1951 until today.

The Deputy Ambassador of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zvone Žigon, noted that the meetings of all seven associations of Slovenians in BiH meant a lot to all participants, because it was an opportunity to see and greet the representatives, and in addition, there was an exchange of opinions, experiences and discussions about new projects.

Along with the music program, we watched the exhibition and continued socializing with old friends.
