On Saturday, November 11, 2023, a concert of Slovenian choirs from Bosnia and Herzegovina was held at the Tuzla Youth Theater Stage.
The gathering of Slovenian choirs takes place every year in a different city, and after 5 years, Tuzla once again hosted dear guests from Banja Luka and Sarajevo.
Three choirs presented themselves to the audience: MePZ "Davorin Jenko" from Banja Luka, MePZ "Camerata Slovenica" from Sarajevo and ŽPZ "Slovenčice" from Tuzla, which offered a diverse repertoire of Slovenian and old town songs. The performance of Act II from the opera "Hasanaginica" by the recently deceased composer from Tuzla, Asim Horozić, was particularly emotional. It was performed by the MePZ "Camerata Slovenica", which recently became famous by winning 3rd place at the International Choir Competition "Music & Sea" with the aforementioned composition, representing two countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia.
Song and socializing completed the martini, the wine festival, which was celebrated late into the night.
Thank you to the guests for bringing and transmitting good energy, and especially to the Office of the Government of the RS for Slovenians abroad, the Embassy of Slovenia in Sarajevo, Youth Theater Tuzla Tuzla, KupiVino, Hotel "Miris dunja 88" Tuzla and to the restaurant Citta del sale & Pivnica Sesame who helped us to be good hosts!
