On Saturday, September 28, 2024, two members of the Triglav Association attended the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the "Cankar" Slovenian Association in the ceremonial hall of the House of Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.

The celebration of this great jubilee was attended by a large number of guests from Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a rich cultural and artistic program was organised with an exceptional performance by the mixed choir "Camerata Slovenica" as well as renowned musical artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The moderator of the programme was Dina Maksumić who, together with the storytellers Dragana Grbić Hasibović and Davor Milošević, reminded the attendees of the history of Cankar and all those who made their great contribution in different phases of the society's existence.

At the end of the festive academy a short but particularly emotional film was presetned, where a few members of Cankar, both young and old, talked about what "Cankar" meant to them. During the film, you could also hear several verses of Slovenian folk songs sung by the oldest members of the Association.

In the lobby of the hall, after the formal programme, those present had the opportunity to view a documentary exhibition with photographs of the association’s work from its foundation to the present day.

After the programme, the gathering continued in the restaurant within the Centre with a special meal for all the attendees, and the PRIMORSKI FANTJE ensemble from Koper made an effort to organise a musical surprise and further brighten up the evening with lots of music and songs.
