On July 20, 2025, the hiking section "Runolist" of the "Triglav" Association organized a memorial walk for the first time in honor of our long-time president of the Association Marija Grbić.
We started the walk in front of the Marija Zvijezda Monastery in Trappist and slowly walked through the forest to Slatina. Along the way, we also visited the nearby Stone Ball and then to the Lunić family estate. Our current president Mladen Lunić hosted us together with his wonderful family and there, with the culinary workshop of his wonderful mother Dragica and the assistance of her beautiful grandchildren, we learned how to make Belokranjska pogača (Slovenian flatbread).
During that time, our hardworking chefs prepared a fantastic minestrone that we ate with delight. There were also various desserts, wine, music and laughter, and a truly wonderful gathering in the shade of a large linden tree.
Our dear Oksana and her girls made an effort and arranged it all to look as if we were in Slovenia.
Thank you to the organizers from the Triglav Slovenian Association, our wonderful hosts the Lunićs, for all their hard work, and I hope that this tradition continues and that there will be more of us every year. Today it was about 10 km, and may it be more kilometers every year.
