On Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Sarajevo, the new president and vice president, as well as two members of the "Triglav" Association attended a reception on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Slovenia and the Day of the Slovenian Army.
It was a good opportunity for the new leadership to introduce themselves and establish contacts that will contribute to the better work of the Association.
The reception was held in a festive atmosphere with an appropriate cultural program, and all guests were greeted by H.E. Damijan Sedar. He congratulated the members of the Army of the Republic of Slovenia on their holiday. After the program, a cocktail party was organized with a rich buffet. There were a lot of guests. In a relaxed atmosphere, we chatted with members of the “Ivan Cankar” choir, our dear Toni, the president of the “Ivan Cankar” association in Sarajevo, Verica Džindo, the future head of the Consular Office in Banja Luka, Elizabeta Kirn Kavčič, the current consul Zvone Žigon and his wife. We managed to “steal” the ambassador for a short while to take a picture with him. We also chatted with a member of the Slovenian Association “Lipa” Prijedor who was presented with a citizenship certificate that day and warmly congratulated him, and we hung out and took pictures with their president, Alenka Uduč.
It was a really pleasant evening.
