The children's folklore group of the "Triglav" Association consists of young people who, through their activities and love of dance, have been contributing to the preservation of Slovenian intangible cultural heritage for 13 years.
Their performances are always noticed and evoke great sympathy from the audience. It was the same on Friday, June 19, 2026, at a performance in Novo Mesto at the "Culture Week" organized by the Association for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo Mesto. They presented themselves to the audience with a mix of Slovenian and Serbian dances. The performance was very successful and was accompanied by great applause.
Many representatives of national minorities presented their cultural program at the "Culture Week", as well as the delicacies of their national cuisine. Performers who live and work in Slovenia and come from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Albania, the Philippines, Nepal, Turkey and Malaysia performed. The atmosphere was dynamic, unusual and exciting. After the successful performance, we tasted excellent, varied food.
On the way to Novo Mesto, after we left early and crossed the border without much delay, we took the opportunity to stop by Otočec and take a short break. Most of the children had never been there, so they enjoyed resting in the shade, looking around the interior of the castle and walking along the green Krka River. On Saturday, Branka Bukovec from the Association for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo Mesto prepared a trip for us to the Kostanjevica Cave. Viewing the pit was very interesting for everyone. We liked the freshness in the pit, because it was hellishly hot that day. This was followed by lunch and the return home.
