New school year has started and thus the supply teaching lessons in Slovenian. The first ones to start were pupils from Slatina who gathered on Wednesday, November 8th, on the premises of the Elementary School "Holandija".

The first lesson was intended for introduction because we now have a new teacher - Valentina Gradič. Valentina Gradič comes from Slovenia and she taught for 4 years at the Elementary Scool "Planina" near Sevnica, while she will teach Slovenian in different places in the Republic of Srpska for one year.

There were ten pupils and their parents who were keen to listen to a native Slovenian teacher. The teacher presented herself and her idea of the lessons. She said that the lessons would be organised into two groups - for younger pupils and older ones, while the pupils would have the opportunity to learn the Slovenian language and culture through written and spoken words, music and games. That the pupils already knew something was confirmed by their introduction in Slovenian whereupon, although a bit timid, they gave a performance to their teacher in the form of songs Tri planike, Marko skače and Naša četica koraka.
