The practical workshop was conducted by Damjan Struna, MSc, a grant advisor at RR & CO. Knowledge Centre Ltd. who is very experienced in the preparation of and writing projects, preparing articles and teaching at seminars and workshops in the field of obtaining and using EU grants, as well as administrative and financial management of projects funded by EU grants.
One of the most important elements of the preparation of a good project is the preparation of a project budget or financial construction of the project. The approach applied at the workshop was a practical work to see how a qualitative project budget is prepared. At the very beginning there was a general presentation of the costs at such projects whereupon a major part of the workshop was dedicated to specific examples of projects.
Preparation of a budget is just the first and necessary but insufficient step in obtaining the EU funds. Following the adjustment of the budget it is necessary to know how to properly account for the costs in order for the EU to acknowledge and refund them.
This was yet another excellent opportunity for the participants to learn a lot of new information and acquire advanced skills in drafting the project budget.
