On March 29th, 2011 we were visited by Mr. Boštjan Žekš, Minister for Slovenians Abroad, H.E. Andrej Grasselli, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in BiH, Mr. Branko Zupanc, a diplomat from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Mrs. Anja Lorenzetti, head of Office of the Minister and Mr. Aleš Selan, senior adviser in the Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad. The meeting was held on the premises of the national Minorities’ Club in Banja Luka where the Association “Triglav” shares the premises with other national minorities.
In addition to members of the Association “Triglav” the meeting was also attended by representatives of Slovenian associations “Lipa” Prijedor and “Prežihov Voranc” Doboj-Teslić. President of the Association "Lipa" Alenka Uduč, president of the Association "Prežihov Voranc" Alojzija Popović and president of the Association "Triglav" Marija Grbić presented to the delegation the associations, activities and problems they face in their work. Presentations included work programmes they applied to the public call announced by the Office for Slovenians Abroad and projects applied for other sources of funding. Teacher of Slovenian Valentina Gradič also presented her work with attendees to the supply teaching lessons students from three associations. Coordinator of the Union of Slovenian Associations in BiH “Europe Now” Ana Kunjadić also mentioned projects she had worked on in the year before as well as plans for future work. Minister Žekš was very interested in the issues, asked a lot of questions and gave positive comments thereto. Active work of associations was recognized through the increase in funds obtained from the Office for Slovenians Abroad for this year.
Following the official part of the meeting, guests and members socialized in a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
