The event was opened by musicians of the City Band Novo mesto with majorettes who had already greeted outdoors in front of the Cultural Centre Janez Trdina.
The programme continued in the hall. During the programme some acknowledgments and awards of the City of Novo mesto were presented for 2010. The award of an honorary citizen was presented to Janez Kramar, the award of the City of Novo mesto to Štefan David and Ivanka Mestnik, Trdin’s award to Nejc Gazvoda, and Jožica and Rudolf Škof, while the coats-of-arms were presented to Anton Zvonko Deželan, Ivan Šašek and Voluntary Fire Brigade Šmihel.
