On 11 January 2008, the Association of Slovenians of the Republic of Srpska Triglav organised a formal meeting on the occasion of the 10th anniversary on the premises of Banski dvor in Banja Luka.
In the past ten years, Slovenians and their descendants have socialised intensively and acted together in Banja Luka. In the meantime, our Association became active in various fields, especially in culture. An increasing number of Slovenians joined and we are proud to say that we currently have over 1400 members. In that way, this tenth anniversary represents an important jubilee to us.
We briefly presented the activities of the Association at the meeting. After that, performances were delivered by choir Davorin Jenko, child choir Mladi Jenkovci, orchestra Trio Fantastico and students of Supply Teaching School of the Slovenian language.
On that occasion, besides the most active members of the Association there were numerous other high-ranking guests from Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In attendance were the present Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Mrs. Nataša Vodušek, first ambassador of Slovenia in BiH, Mr. Drago Mirošić, his successor Mr. Tadej Labernik and the Mayor of Banja Luka, Dragoljub Davidović, who promised a continued assistance to the Association from the local governance authorities. Mr. Ales Selan attended the event as a representative of the Office of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad.
President of the Association, Mrs. Marija Grbić, as a sign of appreciation, presented the most deserving guests with acknowledgments for special merits and exceptional contribution to the activities and development of the Association.
