On Saturday, 1 December 2012, in Cultural Hall „Svoboda“ in Trbovlje one could hear Slovenian folk songs and old songs. They were performed by octet UN 'S TRBOUL and Mixed choir „Davorin Jenko“ of the Association of Slovenians "Triglav" from Banja Luka.
Association of Slovenians RS "Triglav" Banja Luka has cooperated with the town of Trbovlje and in particular with group UN 'S TRBOUL for a number of years.
Slovenians are familiar with octet UN 'S TRBOUL and it is also known and appreciated in the Republic of Srpska, in Banja Luka, where on several occasions did they take part at concerts organised by the Association of Slovenians "Triglav" in cooperation with Cultural Centre Banski dvor Banja Luka. There were always desires to organise a joint concert in Trbovlje as well. This year we managed to do that.
We, Slovenians living abroad and trying to preserve culture and language of our homeland, were very pleased to get an invitation to a joint concert.
The concert was attended by the mayor of Trbovlje, representatives of the city administration and numerous inhabitants of Trbovlje. One could sense special atmosphere. It was an atmosphere of feelings, warmth and stage fright. Primarily, our singers could sense this positive stage fright but it was successfully eliminated by moderator of the programme.
It was really nice listening to songs together with our fellow countrymen. It is also nice to use songs to build bridges, strong, friendly and never again destroyed.
