In December, together with pupils of Supply Teaching Lessons of Slovenian, we went to Ljubljana which was decorated for holidays. Our hosts were pupils and teachers of Elementary School Bežigrad, who kindly welcomed us.
Pupils stayed at their peers, and immediately upon the arrival they attended some classes and did so the next day, as well.
On Thursday, 6 December afternoon we went to the school to watch a charitable performance, prepared in cooperation with UNICEF. On Friday, 7 December, we participated in a creative workshop led by Rada Kos, editor of magazine Prostočasnik. Look at the photographs how we made Santa Claus! In the afternoon we met with writer Tadej Golob and illustrator Ciril Horjak in Trubar's house. They presented a book Zlati zob and each pupil got one copy. We were not only their audience, to the contrary, Ciril Horjak moderated a workshop of making comics which resulted in really interesting comics. On Thursday and Friday we went to the city centre and visited Prešeren's monument, Tromostovje, Mesarski bridge, market, Robbov vodnjak and city hall. We walked around the streets of Old Ljubljana and felt the December pulse of the city. Saturday was reserved for the trip back. Strong connections were made among pupils from Banja Luka, Slatina, Prijedor and Ljubljana and we all look forward to seeing pupils from Ljubljana in our city in spring.
