On Friday, 22 February and Saturday, 23 February 2013 we organised the second DANCING WORKSHOP for children: folklore, dancing, singing – under the leadership and supervision of Majda Nemanič from Novo mesto.
The workshop took place on the premises of the Association in Banja Luka. 28 girls and boys gathered and were ready to cooperate in a group and get familiar with Slovenian national tradition. In order for the work to be easier, active members of OFS from Novo mesto Ana, Anže and Gašper joined us.
By dancing and singing the children got familiar with Slovenian cultural tradition. National songs, dances and customs are an integral part of national identity, part of culture which is to be preserved and nourished by people. The aim of the workshop is to get familiar with and preserve Slovenian national songs, dances and customs, identify national identity and present dances to the public.
We can confirm that there was a lot of singing and dancing in those two days. Young dancers were diligent in following new events and enjoyed the sounds of Gašper’s accordion.
