Gathering of students of Supply Teaching Lessons of Slovenian and students of Gimnazija Novo mesto happens quite often and we always look forward to it. On 22 March we welcomed students of first and second grades while in May we will return the visit.

Students arrived with their teachers Suzana Krvavica and Natalija Petakovič, and were also accompanied by Branka Bukovec from the Society for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo mesto, as she is actually the initiator of numerous projects linking Banja Luka and Novo mesto. On Friday, the guests and our students visited the monastery Trapisti and Slatina. They stayed at their peers and the following day came to Slovenian lessons. Students of Supply Teaching Lessons performed the sketch “Jokes about school”. Two students from Novo mesto said something about the grammar school Gimnazija, and they altogether tried creative writing. How can one describe the visit to Banja Luka? In many different ways! Our challenge was the book by Raymond Queneau “Exercises in Style”. We did not have enough time to describe the event in 99 ways but some funny words were created and in the end of the school year you will be able to read them in the bulletin.

Our students and students from Novo mesto visited the Museum of the Republic of Srpska and made a tour of the city. Both evenings were free for socialising. During those days young men and women made connections that will be continuously nourished. Any visit from Slovenia is a precious possibility for our students to socialise with their peers from the motherland and speak Slovenian with them.
