On 10 May 2008, the Association for the Development of Voluntary Work organised an intercultural evening. It was an opportunity for all national minorities living and actively functioning in Novo Mesto to present themselves to numerous audience.
Members of our child choir Mladi Jenkovci, together with Trio Fantastico, had a performance as special guests and the only ones not acting as a minority in the territory of Novo Mesto, but as a Slovenian minority in Banja Luka.

Our young, talented mezzo-soprano Aleksandra Bilanović performed Mojčina pjesma from the Kekec movie and a song Za Slovenijo živim. Background performance was delivered by members of Trio Fantastico, Lidija Paulin (cello), Sonja Vojvodić (violin) and Dejan Janković (piano). More than a successful performance of our musicians got the best reviews and strong applause. Our members presented themselves to all the guests during the refreshment after the official part of the programme but this time they performed Slovenian pop songs.
On the same day, 10 May 2008, a students’ cvičkarija festival was organised in Novo Mesto, which is the biggest event for the youth in Dolenjsko. It was an opportunity for our young musicians and active young members of the Association to socialise and have pleasant time with their friends from Novo Mesto, with whom they have had beautiful friendly relationships for a number of years.
