An international literary evening entitled »An Atlas of European Lyrics« was held on 15 April in the small conference room of Banski dvor in Banja Luka and was rather unique for many of the attendees. A book was presented where poets of different nationalities wrote poems in their mother tongues.
Translation of poems to Serbian was made by different authors who were thoughtful enough to collect it all in a book that will find its place in different libraries thus being available to many poetry fans. The book was introduced to the attendees by professor Miljko Šindić, PhD, while author Zdravko Kecman spoke about the authors whose poems are in the book. At the incentive of president of the Association of Slovenians Marija Grbić and interest of all representatives of national minorities in the Republic of Srpska author Zdravko Kecman was prepared to take over the burden of collecting materials and linking with poets and translators, among whom it was him who translated majority of poems.
At the literary evening poems were collected by Slovenian poets Maja Vidmar, Barbara Korun, Primož Repar, Slovak poet Stanislava Hrobakova Repar, Macedonian poet Lidija Dimkovska (now living in Ljubljana) and Hungarian translator Iliješ Feher (now living in Vojvodina). Translation of poems read was interpreted by student of Banja Luka grammar school Gimnazija.
During the very successful literary evening the National Minorities’ Union was proud to present its book »An Atlas of European Lyrics« containing the spirit connecting peoples throughout Europe, world.
