This was the 14th time for mixed choir »Davorin Jenko« of the Association of Slovenians Banja Luka to take part at a great choir performance Gathering of Slovenian choirs in a pleasant town of Šentvid pri Stični, where all the people who live there try to be good hosts to numerous choirs on a Saturday evening. On 22 June 2013 they organised the 44th concert »Let the people sing» where eleven choirs from neighbouring countries took part. Our choir also took part at the gathering.

All singers and the attendees were greeted by president of the steering committee of the Gathering of Slovenian Choirs Šentvid pri Stični Mr. Jernej Lampret.
Those taking part at the concert for many years can see continuous progress of some of the choirs. This surely includes choir »Davorin Jenko«. This time, singers from our choir, among other great choirs, received special applause. Concert lasted for two hours but the time flew with some good singing. This was followed by socialising, talking to our country fellowmen with whom we rarely meet.
Despite a tiring journey one could not feel tired when the stage fright appeared. We had but little time to rest until the next and the greatest performance. On Sunday, 23 June 2013, there was a Gathering of Slovenian Choirs organised under the title of »Let the Sun shine in...« and it surely did shine. Indeed, it was a nice sunny day where 2000 voices sang under the conductor’s stick of Igor Švara, a conductor of all choirs since 1994.
