Mag. Iztok Grmek, new Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, met on Friday, 25 October, the members of the Association “Triglav” in Banja Luka. He was accompanied by the Head of the Consular Office in Banja Luka Branko Zupanc.
Mr. Iztok Grmek presented to members of the Association his hitherto work and plans. Among the tasks he will give priority to is the encouraging of cooperation among businessmen from BiH and Slovenia. He also mentioned that the Ministry was considering the possibility of re-establishing a department of the Slovenian language at the University of Sarajevo. Due to great interest for learning Slovenian in the Republic of Srpska a department would be welcome in Banja Luka, too. Mladen Lunić, vice-president of the Association “Triglav”, thanked the guest for his visit and informed him about the work of the Association. He presented to him both magazines published by the Association, as well as the book “Atlas vjetrova”. Mr. Grmek was rather interested in the magazines depicting numerous activities organised by the Association. He said that his office door in Sarajevo would always be open for representatives of the Association, he was willing to listen to their needs and try to help. He will be happy to attend any event in Banja Luka, especially those prepared by the young people, because the work with the young people is the most important for fostering the Slovenian language and culture.
