Institute for Slovenian Emigrants ZRC SAZU from Ljubljana and Society for the development of voluntary work Novo, on the occasion of the Culture Week in Novo mesto and the end of the project “Migrations of professions of Slovenians to the area of the former Yugoslavia: from emigrants to transmigrants”, organised events which lasted for several days.
In Novo mesto the programme purpose was to show to participants ethno facilities in that area. In the Culture Week we attended the opening of an exhibition: “Before: Today: Tomorrow: Slovenian associations in Yugoslav area”.
In the evening of the same day we attended a humanitarian concert. In a lively programme performed by present ethnic groups the Association of Slovenians “Triglav” Banja Luka received a donation collected at the humanitarian concert. Organisers of the concert were – Society for the development of voluntary work Novo mesto, Association of students from Novo mesto and Association SAZAS. Humanity and understanding for the people in flooded areas has been present among Slovenians since the first day.
