Students of high schools and pupils of 9th grade already have bonds with their peers in Novo mesto but this time the exchange also included pupils of 6th, 7th and 8th grades attending supply teaching lessons of Slovenian in Banja Luka and Slatina.
Students of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian took part at the excursions to Dolenjska and Bela krajina. The aim was not only to see natural and cultural sightseeing spots of the area, it was important that our students get to know their peers who live in Novo mesto. They stayed at families so that they could actually see what everyday life of youth looks like. They went together to classes, toured the school and got familiar with Slovenian school system.
Pupils from elementary school stayed at their peers from elementary School Grm, and students of high school at their peers from Gimnazija Novo mesto. In both schools they were pleasantly welcomed and that is why we would like to thank to Marjeta Ferkolj Smolič from Elementary School Grm and Suzana Krvavica from Gimnazija Novo mesto, who had looked for hosts and prepared an interesting programme. Surely, exchange cannot be realised unless supported by school leadership and that is why for excellent programme implementation gratitude goes to Sonja Simčič, principal of Elementary School Grm and Mojca Lukšič, principal of Gimnazija Novo mesto. Our students saw many things they did not have the opportunity to see at supply teaching lessons of Slovenian. They made new bonds and we look forward to seeing students from Novo mesto in Banja Luka.
