On Wednesday, 16 December, children were visited by Santa Claus. He came all the way from the north, had a white cap and grey beard, exactly the way we know him from Slovenian fairy tales and songs. He was welcomed by pre-school children and pupils of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian.
Pupils have been preparing for the visit by Santa Claus. At the workshop Library – universe of treasure they made shadow puppetry for different plays. They used the shadow puppetry to mark everything that is important in life: to help each other and those in troubles and to appreciate even small things. Fairy tales tell us that kindness always pays out and the good will conquer the evil. Pupils attending the supply teaching lessons of Slovenian in Slatina made a play about the miller who had no worries. They showed how well we can live if we know how to conquer worries. The programme commenced by the performance of the youngest pupils who started learning Slovenian in October and was concluded by high-school students who have a very good command of Slovenian.
Following the cultural programme children called Santa Claus. He came with a bucket full of presents. 74 books and sweets were in his buckets and children were eager for him to call their names. Santa Claus knows how to bring smiles to the faces of children and we wish to make everybody’s wishes come true. High-school students said what they wished 2016 to be like. The lined the words according to alphabet – from A to Ž. Exactly for each and every letter in alphabet they looked up for a word. We also wish you what they mentioned. Let 2016 be: adventurous, coloured, magic, unique, great, warm, lively!
