Three members of the Association Triglav participated at seminar in Novo mesto, organised by Institute for Slovenian Emigrants and Migrations ZRC SAZU from Ljubljana and Association for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo mesto. Seminar was held from 16-18 June 2016 as part of the Culture Week Festival.
Seminar entitled “Youth in Transnational Network” was attended by representatives of Slovenian associations from BiH, Montenegro and Serbia, as well as non-governmental associations from Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia. At the opening of the seminar, the attendees were greeted by deputy mayor of Novo mesto, Boštjan Grobler. After his speech, presentations were held by representatives of Institute for Slovenian Emigrants (Marina Lukšič Hacin), Office for Slovenians Abroad (Nadja Skale) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia (Andrej Šter). All topics were focused on youth, their role in associations, possibilities of networking, and cooperation development platforms. Presented was also activity of youth in Slovenian associations in Germany, as well as the possibilities of networking in global community of educated migrants (Društvo VTIS) and participation in European Volunteer Service (EVS).
Following the seminar, at the final event of the Culture Week Festival, minority associations from Novo mesto, different NGOs, and Slovenian associations from all over the world were presented at stands where the visitors had the opportunity to taste different cuisines and read books, magazines, and other products prepared by members of associations. A visit to stands was also paid by the mayor of Novo mesto Gregor Macedoni with whom members of our Association had the opportunity to talk.
Last day of the stay in Novo mesto a tour of cultural sights was organised, on which occasion we had the opportunity to walk along the beautiful River of Krka.
