Reading is fun, books take us to the world of imagination, while at the same time they are reflecting our world.

While reading we increase our vocabulary and that is why it has got a significant influence on learning a language. Therefore, all teachers of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian wish their students read more.

It was the fourth time in Banja Luka that we joined the group of summer readers, thus becoming Poletavci. One can become a Poletavac by reading anything every day for half an hour during summer for 30 days: books, comics, magazine articles, reviews, recipies. This summer Anastasija Babić, Iva Potkonjak and Aleksandra Špehar from Banja Luka, Ivana Šurlan, Emilija Šurlan and Jelena Stupar from Novi Grad, Vesna Sikirić from Prijedor, and Mihaela Đurđević and Milica Radešić from Teslić enjoyed flying on the wings of words.

On Saturday, 15 October, we gathered at Hotel Inn in Banja Luka. All summer readers received certificates and T-shirts. A project by City Library Ljubljana received acknowledgement in 2014 by Slovenian section IBBY for exquisite achievements in the area of promoting youth literature and reading. We are happy because in such successful projects intended for Slovenian children and youth, participants are also students and pupils of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian.
