The Slovenian Emigrant Association made an art announcement in spring for children drawings and paintings.

Pupils of supply teaching lessons of Slovenian were invited to draw their most beautiful place in Slovenia or a person with whom they have special relation in Slovenia. There participated 76 children from ten countries.
All the works were exhibited during summer on the premises of the Slovenian Emigrant Association and Office for Slovenians Abroad. The commission did not decide which one was the most beautiful drawing as children expressed their relations to Slovenia in a beautiful way on all drawings. All participants received letters of thanks and awards. Three pupils of supply teaching lessons from the Republic of Srpska applied for the competition: Gabi Tavčar from Slatina, and Emilija and Ivana Šurlan from Novi Grad. On Saturday, 15 October, we awarded them with certificates and practical awards. They received crayons to continue being creative.
