Info days were organised on 9 and 10 February in Slovenia. Future students filled up secondary schools and faculties, asking practical questions which they could use when choosing further education.

On Saturday, 10 February, a special info day was also organised in Banja Luka. Nataša Pirih Svetina, PhD, from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana presented possibilities of studying at the University of Ljubljana at the premises of the National Minorities’ Club. The audience consisted of students attending supply teaching lessons of Slovenian, parents and secondary school students thinking about studying in Ljubljana.  

University of Ljubljana is the oldest and biggest higher-education and scientific-research institution in Slovenia, established in 1919. Currently, there are more than 40,000 students at the University, while it employs more than 5600 teachers, researchers, assistants, expert and administrative associates at 23 faculties and three art academies. It is among 3% of the most prominent universities in the world.

Nataša Pirih Svetina, PhD, works at the Department of Slovenian Studies, while her field of work is teaching Slovenian as foreign language. She is in charge of Slovenian courses for foreign students at the Faculty of Philosophy, and therefore she was able to share impressions of the youth on their first arrival to Slovenia, what they like the most and where they encounter problems. She presented the possibility of choosing the programme Year Plus, allowing the students to learn the language well. She mentioned what was available for students, and spoke about international cooperation and exchange. She shared a lot of information of assistance to youth when deciding on studying in Slovenia.
