All those learning Slovenian in supply teaching lessons in BiH gathered on 24 and 25 March in Sarajevo. It was organised by the Union of Slovenian Associations in BiH “Europe Now”, and prepared by Slovenian association Cankar Sarajevo.
Students from Prijedor, Banjaluka, Slatina, Kakanj, Zenica, Tuzla and Sarajevo enjoyed interesting workshops. President of Slovenian association Cankar Verica Džindo found excellent mentors, who made the youth enthusiastic. In the first workshop they tried fencing, in the second transplanting flowers, in the third first aid, in the fourth painting, while in the fifth workshop they prepared a play. Each student was able to find the area of interest interested. Saturday afternoon in hotel Saraj was very relaxed with socialising and creativity and passed by quickly. Just before dinner each group presented their work.
After dinner, disco was organised in the hotel while the elder went out. The following morning was time for exploring Sarajevo. We visited the National Museum. This is the oldest, biggest and most important museum in BiH which was founded on 1 February 1888. Museum was closed for a long time but now its rich collection is available to the public again. We concluded our sightseeing by visiting Mrkva bar where we had ćevapi and after that set off home full of impressions. The gathering of students is supported by the Office of the Government of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad and this year it was held for the 19th time.
