On 8 and 9 June we welcomed Irena Cerar, a long time editor of National Geographic Junior, publicist and author of family excursion guides Magical Paths of Slovenia, Magical Paths to History and Magical paths of Kamnik.

Students and adults gathered in Jewish Cultural Centre on 8 June. Irena Cerar told them different folk tales leading them throughout different Slovenian areas. She supplemented her tales by photographs of areas where the fairy tales live and by illustrations. In the year when we mark the European Year of Cultural Heritage, meeting the spoken tradition is even more important. The attendees listened carefully to what she was saying and everybody in the hall enjoyed beautiful Slovenian words.

Irena Cerar’s visit was a nice closure of this school year. We awarded certificates of attendance to students, as well as the reader’s badge for the cooperation in the project of Library – Universe of Treasure. Some students received a special recognition for regular attendance and cooperation in the activities. Everyone could pick a book or two from the table. The books were provided by library Anton Tomaž Linhart Radovljica our partner in the project. This will contribute to having a summer full of events.
