Gathering of Slovenian choirs took place for the 49th time in Šentvid pri Stični, municipality of Ivančna Gorica on 16 and 17 June 2018. The aim of the gathering is to preserve traditional choir singing of Slovenian 'folk' songs, not only for Slovenians living outside Slovenia, but also those in Slovenia.

New president of the gathering Matej Šteh made a welcome speech and thanked all the participants, singers and conductors for accepting the invitation and coming to the gathering. He asked them to sing thus inviting Slovenians all over the world to sing together, and socialise and enjoy joint singing.

Our choir has participated at the gathering for a number of years. The first evening, we sang at the Concert of Slovenian choirs from other countries. There were ten choirs from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy and Hungary.
Our choir had a successful performance the audience enjoyed. We sang two Slovenian folk songs and one Serbian song.
On Sunday morning we performed at the gathering of choirs from abroad and local choirs. There were 27 women choirs, 18 men choirs and 40 mixed choirs.

It was a magnificent feeling to sing with around 2000 people under conducting of Igor Švara. Our choir received recognition for 15 years of participation at the gathering.
