On Saturday, 15 December, in the National Minorities’ Club in Banjaluka it was a lively and creative morning. Luana Malec and Urška Bonin, librarians from Library Srečko Vilhar from Koper, prepared a Lego workshop.

They organised it with the didactic aid LegoStoryStarter, product of LEGO Education programme, designed in the way to develop skills with children of speaking, listening, reading, writing and certain IT areas. Didactic kit contains the application for entry of the text and creation of stories.

Creation of stories with the aid of Lego cubes attracted both the youngest and elder members. We prepared three performances: for pupils, students and adults. They all had the same task: Urška told them the beginning of the legend on Goldhorn, while participants had to use Lego cubes to finish the story. They took photographs and made a story. Each group presented their work, we enjoyed interesting presentations and original ideas.

Making stories with the assistance of Lego cubes is a tested method increasing motivation with children to write and read and improves their literacy. In Slovenia they are played by many libraries and schools. Lego workshop in Banjaluka enriched the classes and pupils had the opportunity to show their language skills and rich imagination.
